205 represent the width of a tyre, measured in mm. So, Multiseason and YH18s are available in 205 mm width.
55 is the height of the sidewall represented as a percentage of the tyre width. In this case, its sidewall is 55% of the width of that tyre.
- Pro tip – The smaller the sidewall height is, the better cornering grip you will have.
The letter R represents the construction of the tyre. In this case, it is a radial tyre.
16 is the size of the rim that this tyre will fit onto. A Jinyu 205/55 R16 tyre will go on a 16-inch rim.
